Take A Look At Elmhurst!
Elmhurst - A Wonderful Place To Live!
Elmhurst is what it is today because of its founders. The early settlers chose the location because of the town's proximity to Chicago and major transportation routes. Elmhurst is only 15 miles west of Chicago's Loop and is accessible by all the major expressways, which also allows a person to conveniently get to O'Hare and Midway airports. The Metra train runs right through the heart of downtown Elmhurst on its way to downtown Chicago.
The city boasts a proud history that dates back to the members of the Potawatomi Indian tribe who first settled along Salt Creek. By the 1830's, European immigrants settled here and in 1869 named the village Cottage Hill. The community was renamed Elmhurst in 1945 for the many elm trees planted along the streets. After the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, many families took refuge in Elmhurst. From 1950 to 1970, the population grew to more than 50,000.

The Elmhurst Art Museum's main building is one of three Mies van der Rohe homes built in the United States. The Elmhurst Historical Museum is housed in the Glos Mansion, the 1892-built home of Henry Glos, one of the founding fathers and Elmhurst's first village president. The Elmhurst Public Library's east section was a traditional colonial style built in 1868 for Seth Wadhams.

Selling Your Home >Full Disclosure
If you are about to list a home that you have lived there for many years, you know that it is not perfect. For example, there might be a leak in the basement that is noticeable only after a heavy rain. Your garage door might stick, and the dishwasher may be prone to work stoppages.
Every home has a few quirks. When it is time to sell your home, you have a choice of either making the necessary repairs or letting the buyers know about the problems. Material defects must be fully disclosed. Some buyers will order a structural inspection in order to learn exactly what they will be getting. Even if the buyers don't ask for an expert to look at the house, it is the seller's responsibility to disclose any known defects in the property. The seller's agent will provide the disclosure form, wherein the seller may itemize any problems. Sellers may avoid any real estate lawsuits over undisclosed defects by making repairs before the sale or agreeing to a price adjustment during the transaction if defects are discovered.
