Wood Dale, Illinois
History

You find Wood Dale IL real estate in Addison Township. The township is located in DuPage County in the northeast section of the state. The land where Wood Dale properties now sit was the home of the Winnebago tribe. When Illinois became a state in 1818, the tribe gave up rights to the grounds.

The area’s boundaries expanded throughout the years. In 1890, the area’s train station was relocated to the corner of Irving Park Road and Wood Dale Road. In 1899, the station’s name was changed to Wooddale. In 1928 the area was incorporated to become the Village of Wood Dale. Over a 20-year period the population exploded from just over 3,000 to more than 11,000.
